Introduce Yourself!
I have been married to my wife Nancy over 40 years, and we have four
grown children (Cory, Adam, and Aaron Kerkvliet and Kali Myrlie) and eight
grandchildren. I worked for over 30 years at Citibank but have retired from
there. I am currently the Executive Director of the Lyon County Riverboat
Foundation. I enjoy reading, running, hiking, biking, and playing pickleball.
I try to live by the principle of treating others as I want to be treated.
I have lived in Larchwood for over 60 years. I love being part of a small
community where people know each other and take care of each other.
Having worked in the financial industry for most of my life, I am most
interested in ensuring that the city is financially sound and that it can
afford the amenities that make Larchwood a special place to live now and
in the future.
People can contact me via email or phone, which are both located on the
city website, or stop me on the street as I am walking, running, or riding my
bicycle.
My new favorite place is the pickleball court in the park, and I am looking
forward to the pickleball courts in the new community center. I enjoy
watching my grandchildren play in various sporting venues.
My favorite place.
I currently serve on the Mid-Sioux Opportunity board. Mid-Sioux is a
Community Action Agency that focuses on children and families who often
times are in need of assistance.
Most residents may not know that I enjoy traveling and have traveled to all
fifty states and a dozen countries. One of my favorite destinations is New
York City and I have visited that location over 30 times.
