Larchwood Emergency Medical Services (LEMS) is a volunteer-based emergency response organization
providing rapid, high-quality pre-hospital care to Larchwood and surrounding communities. Staffed by
dedicated First Responders and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), LEMS responds to medical
emergencies, accidents, and urgent calls 24 hours a day. The team is committed to ongoing training,
strong teamwork, and community education, working closely with local fire, law enforcement, and
healthcare partners to help keep the community safe.
LEMS serves the general public of all ages and plays a vital role in both emergency response and
community support. In addition to emergency services, they provide standby coverage at local events, offer
CPR and first aid awareness, and promote emergency preparedness.
Community members can get involved by becoming a First Responder or EMT, assisting with fundraising
efforts, or supporting LEMS at community events. The organization is always looking for individuals
interested in learning lifesaving skills and serving their community.
A highlight of the year is LEMS’s annual pork feed fundraiser during Larchwood Days, which helps support
training, supplies, and equipment. The organization is made up entirely of volunteers who are on call 24/7,
with a combined total of over 160 years of service—demonstrating a deep commitment to caring for
neighbors in their most critical moments. In the LEMS photo- squad members left to right:
